The tournament will take place on Sunday 4 November, 9am - 5pm.
All league sessions are booked on a Sunday afternoon, starting on Sunday 11 November. They will run from 1pm - 5pm. Note that the hall must be clear and ready for the next group once the session is over.
Cost of entry to the league is £tbd, likely mid 200's. This includes full cost of hiring the hall for the winter, balls and other equipment provided, and trophies at the end of the year. Cheques can be given to me on the day of the tournament, and made out to Pete Armstrong. Please note that I shall pay for the hall in early November, and I require the money to be submitted by then.

There are 8 teams taking part in the league, and each team will play every other team twice over the winter. Each week 4 teams will turn up, and each team will play twice, for a total of 4 games per afternoon. Each team will also be expected to provide an umpire and time-keepers for one game, during each afternoon that they are playing. Games generally take just under the hour, (4 half-innings of 12 minutes each) and the hall is only booked for 4 hours on each afternoon, so prompt starts and quick turnarounds are essential. If a session is running late for any reason, an agreement should be made before a game starts to shorten the innings to 10 minutes, or whatever is required.
Balls, bases and a stopwatch will be available at the hall. Some scorecards might be available, but captains are encouraged to photocopy the scorecard available on the web page, and bring their own.
If I am at the game, then I shall pick up scorecards at the end of the day. If not, then please e-mail or phone with scores as soon as possible after each game. If I get the scores over the weekend, I shall try to get the website up to date by the Monday morning. Captains should check the arithmetic on the scorecards after each game. Once a scorecard is sent to me I shall not change any scores, even if I spot arithmetical mistakes.
All ties for position, in both the Tournament and the League, will be settled by points scored, using points difference in the unlikely event of points scored being equal.
MVP awards will be awarded at the end of the season. These will be awarded to the lady and gent with the highest number of home runs hit for their own team during the regular season, (so ringers' home runs and play-off games do not count). So if you prefer to miss out the details when you are scoring, please at least circle the '5' for a homer.
Feedback is always welcomed, please feel free to pass back all comments: good, bad or ugly.
